A women’s olympic athlete has come out to say she saw Caster Semenya’s pen_is in the bathroom and that Caster should not compete with women. This comes after international media ‘attacked’ Caster over her gender in the past few days.
Caster Semenya is the odds-on favorite to capture the gold in the women’s 800-meter race in the 2016 Rio Olympics. But the questions about her true gender continues, even in whispers that reverberate around the athletes’ village.
It doesn’t help, of course, that the 25-year-old is dominating the middle-distance race.
Back when she won over Russian Mariya Savinova in the 2009 World Championships, the latter voiced out what everybody else was thinking: she probably has too much testosterone in her.
However, the ANC Women’s League (ANCWL) has slammed some international media organisation’s interest in South African runnerCaster Semenya’s s_exuality.
The league has labelled the criticism as humiliating and demoralising and that it creates the impression an African woman can’t excel in sport.
The ANCWL has called on South Africans to support the gold medalist and to condemn speculation around her gender.
The league has reacted to an international sports magazine questioning whether Semenya should be allowed to compete against women at the Rio Olympics.
The hashtag #HandsOffCaster has been trending on social media in a show of support for the 25-year-old runner.
