A Kaizer Chiefs fan says he has offered R2m to Steve Komphela for him to quit as Amakhosi coach. The man who identified himself as Bra Peter told reporters that he was tired of sleeping with a broken heart because of Chiefs’ losses.
“I don’t mean to be arrogant or a show off, I’m just using what I have to show I am not happy. I have written to Steve and hopefully he will consider taking my offer. I don’t mind parting with R2m, as long as Steve leaves. Chiefs must go back to winning ways,” he said.
Komphela’s woos were elevated by a defeat to Matsatsantsa a Pitori on Wednesday last week. The Glamour Boys are still to win a game since the dawn of 2017/18 season. Fans shouted “Steve Must Fall” after the 2-1 loss.
Judging by what happened last season, it is unlikely that Kaizer Chiefs boss Kaizer Motaung will fire Komphela. Some fans have vowed to boycott all Kaizer Chiefs fans until Mr Motaung listens to them about sacking Komphela.
Bra Peter says he shares his feelings with millions of Amakhosi supporters. “All Kaizer Chiefs fans are angry. Imagine a big team like ours going the entire season without lifting a cup. It shows something is wrong with the leadership”.
“I gave Steve 10 days to respond to my offer. If he really cares about millions of Kaizer Chiefs fans he will take my money and resign. We are tired of mediocre performance,” added Bra Peter who claims to be a businessman with interests in IT and constitution sectors.
